Q. what is the gottman assessment?

A. Please read this outline of the method that I follow that is based on Dr. Gottman’s observational research.

Q. What types of therapy do you do?

A. I am a regional specialist working with couples, having trained extensively in two research-based models: 1) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), based on the research of Dr. Sue Johnson, author of the book Hold Me Tight, and 2) Gottman Method, designed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman and based on their research and clinical work spanning 40+ years with over 3000 couples. I am one of only 25 Certified Gottman "Master Trainers" worldwide who have demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the method in order to be most effective with couples. I am also nearing completion of my EFT certification.

Here is more information on Dr. Gottman’s method.

Q. Do you take insurance?

A. I am not in network with any insurance companies, but I'll be happy to help you file your own claims with your company for "out of network" coverage, so that you may get a partial reimbursement and/or possibly get the costs applied toward your deductible. This option is a way to make visits with me more affordable and is a fairly streamlined reimbursement process for most insurers. Your first visit will be $350 (which includes the purchase of your online relationship checkup described in the previous paragraph and the attached PDF). All visits after the first session are $150/hour (prorated depending on length of session). Based on the research of both John Gottman and Sue Johnson, best practice in couples therapy calls for 90 minute visits. I accept checks and cash, as well as all four major credit cards. You may also use FSA and HSA cards for payment.

Q. how do i get an appointment?
